Whether you are a beginner or a serious Scrabble player, this is the starting point for all you need to know about Scrabble in India. The Scrabble Association of India unites Scrabble players across the country and conducts regular events and tournaments in different cities.
At present, we have our members concentrated in centres such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Goa, Vadodara and Kolkata. However, we are always looking at spreading across different cities in India through promotion and events.

At the tender age of 5, Madhav Gopal Kamath began his remarkable journey into the world of Scrabble. With each tile he placed, each word he played, he began crafting a legacy of brilliance and determination. Despite his young age, Madhav fearlessly took on opponents much older than him, showing a rare blend of skill, sheer grit and tenacity.With every victory, he proved that age is no bar to his prodigal talent. He beat top players and veterans like Sherwin Rodrigues, Aditya Iyengar, Udayan Grover, Sunny Bhatia, Sanjoy Gupta and many others, to be gibsonized at the 18th All-India Goa Open. Today, at 13, Madhav stands as a shining example of what passion and perseverance can achieve. Here's to Madhav, the young Scrabble sensation who continues to inspire us all....

*India's youngsters shine at the WESPA Youth Cup 2023 in Trang, Thailand*Twelve young Scrabblers from India participated in the WESPA Youth Cup 2023 (WYC 2023), which took place in Trang, Thailand from 1st to 3rd December 2023. The tournament featured 142 players from 15 countries.India’s leading youth player Madhav Gopal Kamath, who had finished second in the virtual editions of the WYC in 2021 and 2022, finished fifth overall with 16 wins at a spread of +1946 - his impressive spread was the best for any player in the tournament. Notably, he was also awarded the first prize in the under-14 age category.Finishing in tenth place was Suyash Manchali (also with 16 wins, at a spread of +717), He also won the third prize in the under-16 category and added to his top-ten finish in the 2022 edition of the WYC.As many as six of the 12 Indian youngsters finished within the top 25 – the others being Ahana Goyal (17th place), Samarth Manchali (19th), Triambak Eashwar (24th) and Ekansh Arora (25th). This creditable display was another testament to India’s growing profile on the international youth Scrabble scene. Aged just ten, Samarth additionally won the second position prize in the under-12 category, while Ahana won the third prize in the under-14 category. Ahana was also adjudged the best female player of the tournament. Besides the aforesaid six players, the Indian contingent also comprised Anika Dalwani, Aarush Jotwani, Ishika Poddar, Vihaan Singhvi, Suhaas Khandelwal, and Shiv Talwar. The Indian team was coached and managed by Neeta Bhatia.Sri Lanka stole the honours by securing the top three positions at the tourney. Well done, guys!
