Whether you are a beginner or a serious Scrabble player, this is the starting point for all you need to know about Scrabble in India. The Scrabble Association of India unites Scrabble players across the country and conducts regular events and tournaments in different cities.
At present, we have our members concentrated in centres such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Goa, Vadodara and Kolkata. However, we are always looking at spreading across different cities in India through promotion and events.

*Aditya Iyengar defends National Championship title in style*![]()

The 23rd edition of the National Scrabble Championship, held at the Willingdon Catholic Gymkhana in Mumbai from 19th to 21st May, saw Aditya Iyengar defend his title with a round to spare. ![]()

Having won the Nationals for the first time in 2022, Aditya repeated the feat by notching 19 wins from 25 rounds. Rahil Parkar finished second with 17 wins, while Sherwin Rodrigues finished third with 16 wins. ![]()

Division B was won by Aaradhya Srivastava, who was likewise Gibsonised in the penultimate round. The tournament featured 63 players from across India and beyond - 30 in Division A and 33 in Division B.

The 2023 Goa All-India Open, held at Terminal Banquets in Panaji from 21st to 23rd April, saw an exciting finish as top seed Aditya Iyengar came back to win the last four rounds to narrowly edge out eventual runner-up Ishika Shivalingaiah. The third place went to 12-year-old Madhav Gopal Kamath.

The Kaizen All-India Open, held in Pune from 17th to 19th March, saw Ishika Shivalingaiah of Bangalore Scrabble Club emerge victorious in remarkable fashion, as she sealed her first major tournament title with as many as three rounds to spare. Udayan Grover and Aditya Iyengar finished second and third respectively.![]()

Ishika set the tone with a rousing start - she won each of her first 12 games - and ensured that she remained in pole position thereafter. Hearty congratulations to her for a dominating display!![]()

The tournament, held at Hotel Parc Estique, featured 29 players battle it out over 25 rounds.
The KSSA Indian Open 2023 was held in Bangalore from 26th to 29th January. Results from all four divisions and pictures from the tournament can be accessed at this link.
