Whether you are a beginner or a serious Scrabble player, this is the starting point for all you need to know about Scrabble in India. The Scrabble Association of India unites Scrabble players across the country and conducts regular events and tournaments in different cities.
At present, we have our members concentrated in centres such as Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Goa, Vadodara and Kolkata. However, we are always looking at spreading across different cities in India through promotion and events.

The 2023 GAIL Cup was held in Delhi earlier this month, from 1st to 3rd September. Conducted by the Scrabble Association of Delhi, the tournament featured 58 players across four divisions.![]()
Sherwin Rodrigues prevailed in Division A with a remarkable 22 wins from 25 games, followed by youth ace Madhav Gopal Kamath and Sunny Bhatia in second and third place respectively. ![]()
Division B was a fight to the finish, with Vignesh S pipping Abid Hussain and Ela Ghose to the title in the final round. Division C and D, both of which were one-dayers, were won by youngsters Shiv Talwar and Mayank Malik respectively.![]()
The strong presence of kids and upcoming youth players among the participants was heartening. Spot prizes were given in the form of books, while V. Sridev won the Vandana Grover Memorial Trophy for the most improved player.![]()

Also among the top ten were Suyash Manchali (7th) and Manit Arora (9th). A total of eight youth players from India took part in this virtual tournament, which featured some of the best youth players from six countries.
