The tournament will be held at the MuSigma campus in Bangalore. Set amidst a bustling Technology Park, there are several hotels and restaurants and a mall in the area.

How
In person tournament using all COVID appropriate protocols.
Word List: Word source will be the Collins Scrabble Tournament and Club Word List 2019. CSW21
Challenge: 5-point penalty per word, the player does not lose turn.
Who
All divisions are open to Indians and foreigners. Rating cutoffs apply. Special discounts for Indian nationals under the age of 18.
Tournament will be SAI and WESPA rated
Divisions
Three divisions with rating cutoffs at 1250 and 850 are planned. Assignment to divisions will be based on SAI ratings where available. SAI Ratings as of May 1, 2022 will be considered. This may result in some corrections following the Mumbai tournament in April 2022.
If SAI ratings are not available, WESPA ratings will be considered. If neither SAI nor WESPA ratings are available, KSSA will judge the players’ level on basis of their Woogles and ISC ratings and history.
Organizers reserve the options to adjust this if required to deliver an optimal tournament experience.
Open
For top level players (1250+) but anyone wishing to experience a tough tournament over 4 days against the best of players may register for this division.

Premier
The Premier Division is for the strong middle band of players with SAI ratings between 850 and 1250. Not too many easy games here, but definitely a serious 4 day tournament experience.

The Enthusiast Division is for Scrabble enthusiasts, especially those who have participated in any of the KSSA Training Workshops.

Prize Purse
The total Prize Fund is guaranteed to be a minimum of INR 800,000 across all three divisions. This may be increased depending on number of registrations. Final Prize Purse with Prize structure will be announced on 20th May, 2022. Prizes are subject to tax deduction at source as per Indian laws. Indian players will receive prize money on Sunday 29th May 2022. Prize money transfers to foreigners will be made no later than 6th June, 2022.
Food and Beverages
Registration fees include breakfast, lunch, tea time snacks, tea, coffee, and drinking water. Only vegetarian food is served at the MuSigma cafetaria. Players may avail non-vegetarian food services elsewhere on the campus at their own expense.
COVID Advisory
Players are required to be fully vaccinated and ideally should provide a certificate at the time of registration. If you have not completed your vaccination at the time of registration, you will need to do so and submit your certificate prior to the start of the game. You must have submitted your vaccination certificate by Jan 18th.
Travel laws of the Indian and state and local governments are subject to change, and KSSA will not be liable for any loss incurred to players due to flight, hotel, or other travel bookings made by the players. In the event of the tournament being cancelled due to COVID situation demanding such cancellation or any other act of God, KSSA will refund the registration fees paid in full less banking commissions if any.

Indian nationals who are under the age of 18 on Jan 1, 2022 (born after Jan 1, 2004) and Seniors (born on or before Dec 31 1956) play for Half Off the above rates.

Refunds
Registration fees once paid are generally not refundable, unless KSSA is forced to cancel the tournament due to COVID or other unusual occurrence.
